Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a competitive merchandise assortment plan that is customer focused and adjusts to sales plans based on competition, business needs, and fashion/industry trends
  • Achieve sales and margin objectives for seasonal buying plans
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and seasonal sales analysis to make short and long term recommendations to drive category business
  • Manage inventory to meet planned stock levels and change in consumer demand
  • Analyze and negotiates proposals for product based on trend, price, delivery time, and quality to select the mostappropriate vendors
  • Determine item lifecycles and exit strategies as well as identify items to maximize promotional and marketing strategies
  • Attend store trips, trade shows and conferences
  • Train and coach Buying Coordinator

Job Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in retail buying, retail fashion experience is required
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize workload and respond to functional needs
  • Ability to meet deadlines and operate independently with a high level of accuracy
  • High attention to detail and creative problem solving ability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Results driven and team oriented with a positive attitude

 

Education: Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in Fashion Management/Visual Merchandising and/or related work experience
