Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing historical information, system reports, anticipated and current sales trends, and budgets to develop Class and item Purchase plans through to SKU; you will be accountable for achieving or exceeding budgeted sales, margins and inventory levels.

  • Analyzing product performance through full cycle of an item and respond with necessary inventory reorders or markdown strategies to maximize product sales.

  • Developing specific strategies to achieve departmental goals throughout the product life cycle.

  • Understanding sales and business data and applying information to influence decisions throughout the organization.

  • Generating various reports and analysis in support of the merchandise planning and sales cycles.

  • Recommending pricing strategies and markdowns to increase the sell through of excess merchandise.

  • Creating product assortment plans to determine how many style-colors are required within each collection, by product classification, store clusters, to meet the seasonal financial goals; developing bottom up financial plans that provide a product centric view of the revenue opportunity for each season.

  • Executing monthly/as needed re-forecast of comprehensive financial plan aligned top-down goals.

  • Re-forecasting sales and inventory based on current trends, weekly or as needed.

  • Providing analytical support by quantifying impacts of strategic, promotion, and assortment changes.

  • Providing ad hoc business reports and analysis as needed.

Job Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • Has at least two years of experience in a similar/related role; ideally has fashion retail merchandise planning experience.

  • Results-orientated with strong analytical acumen; has the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into trends and initiate actions.

  • Ability to interpret financial sales data to make decisions and recommendations.

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications; advanced skills in Excel, including creating spreadsheets, complex formulas, pivot tables, etc.

  • Collaborative with an ability to work with a variety of personalities and able to work cross-functionally with buyers and retail partners.

  • A team player with strong communication skills.

  • Passionate about the fashion retail business (experience preferred)

Education: An undergraduate degree or diploma in Fashion Retailing / Buying or Business Administration
